The IBAN must be used to make internal and domestic payments from 15 September onwards
Starting from 15 September 2017, only the IBAN or the international bank account number can be used to make internal and domestic payments.
The change emanates from the transition from old account numbers to IBAN in Estonia on 1 February 2014. Both the national account number and IBAN could be used when making internal and domestic payments during the transition period.
Example:
- national account number: 10 1234 5678 9012,
- IBAN or the international account number: EE 9010 10 1234 5678 9012
Clients who have already adopted the IBAN for internal and domestic payments do not have to change anything. Clients who have been using the national account number can calculate their IBAN with the IBAN calculator.
