The SEB pension investment account

A solution for an experienced investor as well as a novice

Paragraphs

What is a Pension Investment Account (PIA)?

A PIA allows you to remain in the second pillar system and use its advantages; however, you can make your own investment decisions regarding the money in the pension pillar and buy or sell securities at a time suitable for you.
  • In addition to your 2% contributions, the state will add another 4% out of social tax to your PIA. You are also not liable to pay income tax if you transfer your pension fund assets to the PIA. The issue of paying income tax arises only if you wish to leave the second pillar system.
  • If you wish, you can redirect your money and contributions from the PIA back to the second-pillar pension fund so that a fund manager could continue managing your investments.
  • This is an opportunity to hold investments in a PIA as well as own shares of several pension funds. You can transfer all or only some assets from your second pillar to the pension investment account.
