Registration of card: enter your ID code on the ISIC card page in the pilet.ee environment. Active cards tied with the ID code and found in the MinuKool database will be connected to the ticketing system. Tickets can be bought for the card and your right to travel benefits certified based on the ID code at www.pilet.ee
A card registered in the ticketing system can be used until expiry of its term, unless the student or teacher statute of the user expires sooner or if the user closes its bankcard before the expiry date printed on it. In this case, the card will be deactivated and information on it forwarded automatically also to the ticketing system. You can find the list of your active and activated cards when logging into the ticketing system.
* If a foreign student has been issued Estonian ID code after receipt of the card (a foreign ID code or date of birth is entered on the card), a new card must be ordered for using it as a public transport card with an Estonian ID entered on it.
Until the end of 2019, we issued automatic multi-year extension cards for ISICs and ITICs. In the first quarter of each year, we check the statuses of the holders of multi-year student and teacher cards to find out if they still have the right to keep using the card. If the client has the required status in the Estonian Education Information System at the time of the check and therefore has the justification to keep using their two-year card, we deduct a service fee of 6 euros from their account for extending their usage rights. This means that the client can use the card until the term of expiry marked on the card.
If the client does not have the student/teacher status but they own a multi-year card, we send them a notice of closing the card. Instead of ISICs and ITICs, these clients will receive free Mastercard debit cards as replacement cards.
ISICs and ITICs are issued in cooperation with the Federation of Estonian Student Unions (EÜL).
ISIC Student card cannot be applied for by: external students, interns, residents.
All young people aged 18-25 years can join the SEB Youth Plan.
The monthly fee of Youth Plan is EUR 0.32, which includes an ISIC card with no service fee and free payments.
* Internet bank agreement can be concluded for a child from the age of 7 years
Every at least 6-year-old pupil of a general or a vocational education school can apply for an ISIC Scholar bankcard.
*The following specialists engaged in the field of teaching and education are considered to be teachers: teacher, academic staff, speech therapist, special education teacher, school psychologist, educator, methodologist, hobby group leader, hobby manager, trainer-teacher, accompanist, instructor.
You can order a new debit card by mail from the Internet Bank (Transactions −˃ Cards −˃ Order cards). The prerequisite is that you are of legal age and have a valid Internet Bank agreement. This is required to activate the card and see the PIN.
If you are not SEB's customer or you do not have a valid Internet Bank agreement, you can order the card via video meeting.
You can open an account for your child or order them a bank card without leaving your computer. An account can be opened for a child by their legal representative: a parent.
Necessary for opening an account
If you do not have a valid internet bank agreement, you can fill in the card application here and open the child's account at a video meeting or at the SEB office.
The idea for the card was developed by SEB’s young colleagues of the last summer within the framework of the Youth LAB internship programme. By introducing ISIC and ITIC bank cards made of corn, we at SEB will save about 230 kg of plastic per year.
SEB’s new ISIC and ITIC bank cards contain 82% less plastic compared to regular bank cards. The cards are made of corn mass, into which the chip and antenna are pressed. The card is then covered on both sides with a thin layer of plastic, which together with the chip and the antenna make up 18 per cent of the card. Corn plastic, which is biodegradable at 58 °C and 90 per cent air humidity, needs protection in normal conditions – hence the plastic layer.
The greenness of the card lies mainly in the production process:
where the raw material for the PVC (polyvinyl chloride) plastic polymer is petroleum products, the raw material for PLA (polylactic acid) corn plastic is corn starch. The production process of these bioplastic cards produces less CO2 emissions.
