    74 per cent of people collecting pensions intend to continue with contributions into the II pillar

    As a part of the package of economic measures intended to mitigate the effect of the coronavirus crisis, the State will suspend contributions made into the II pension pillar on account of social tax (4%) from 1 July 2020 to 31 August 2021. People born between 1942 and 1960 are an exception – the contributions made by the State into the II pension pillar on account of social tax will continue as normal. However, they will get the opportunity to suspend their II pillar contributions by submitting a corresponding application in October 2020.

    Children’s inventions combat climate change and protect the nature of Estonia

    Tomorrow, on 28 June, another winning entry of the children’s invention contest will be opened at Lotte Village, which will teach children to protect the forest and nature. The full-scale work will become a permanent exhibit at the Lotte Village theme park, which will be complemented in 2020 by a show tailored specifically for this. The author of the winning entry in the invention contest is 11-year-old Emili Matjušenko from Ida-Viru County.

    SEB’s comment relating to an audit by the Estonian FSA

    From 26 August to 27 September 2019, the Estonian Financial Supervision and Resolution Authority (FSA) audited the activities of SEB Pank during past few years in fighting money laundering and terrorism financing. In the audit, no evidence was found that SEB would have been systematically used for money laundering or terrorism financing, however the bank has to remedy shortcomings in collecting customer data and monitoring the business relationship.
