From 1 June 2026, private customers’ debit cards* will include purchase insurance. The insurance service is provided by PZU Kindlustus.
- Purchase insurance insures durable goods purchased new, which have been paid for with a debit card issued by SEB.
- Purchase insurance insures durable goods with a purchase price of at least 100 euros and a service life of at least 3 years determined by the manufacturer.
- The insurance cover is valid for 270 days from the receipt of the goods or the date of purchase.
*For the Mastercard Gold debit card, purchase insurance coverage is provided to all cardholders. In the case of Mastercard debit cards, ISIC and ITIC debit cards and Mastercard picture cards, purchase insurance cover is guaranteed to the cardholder who is between 18 and 25 years old (incl.) at the time of purchase.
Sums insured and deductible:
- Single item up to 1000 euros
- One insured event up to 2000 euros
- One year up to 4000 euros
- Items with limited compensation* up to 400 euros
- Deductible for each insured event is 50 euros
*Computers, computer parts and external devices; mobile phones; glasses, including sunglasses; watches; unique items, jewellery (including precious stones, precious metals and pearls); fur items.

In the event of an insured event, submit a claim notice on PZU self-service.
In addition to the claim notice, you shall submit to PZU Kindlustus:
- a document certifying the purchase or provide information related to the payment, showing the name of the goods, the date of purchase (or the date of receipt of the goods) and the cost of the goods; and
- a digitally signed card payment receipt or account statement proving that the payment has been made with a SEB debit card.
PZU Kindlustus is the Estonian Branch of the Lithuanian insurance company AB Lietuvos draudimas, which is a part of the international PZU Group and uses the PZU trademark in Estonia.
