Purchase insurance

A private customer’s credit card includes a purchase insurance. The insurance service is provided by PZU Kindlustus.

  • Purchase insurance covers durable goods purchased new at stores and online, which have been paid using a credit card issued by SEB or a card account
  • Purchase insurance covers durable goods with a purchase price of at least 100 euros and a service life determined by the manufacturer for at least 3 years
  • The insurance cover is valid for 180 days from the receipt of the goods or the date of purchase

Sums insured and deductible:

  • Single item up to 1000 €
  • One insured event up to 2000 €
  • One year up to 4000 €
  •  Items with limited compensation* up to 400 €
  • Deductible for each insured event is 50 €


*Computers, computer parts and external devices; mobile phones; glasses, including sunglasses; watches; unique items, jewellery (including precious stones, precious metals and pearls); fur items.

Read the purchase insurance information document, which provides an overview of the insurance service, as well as PZU general terms and conditions of insurance contracts and the terms and conditions of purchase insurance OK100/2024, which provides a complete overview of the terms and conditions of the insurance contract, the sums insured, the indemnity limits and the restrictions and exclusions applicable to the insurance contract.

In case of an insured event, submit a claim notice on PZU self-service.

In addition to the claim notice, you must submit to PZU Kindlustus:

  • a document certifying the purchase or provide information related to the payment, showing the name of the goods, the date of purchase (or the date of receipt of the goods) and the cost of the goods; and
  • a digitally signed statement of the credit card or card account certifying that the payment was made with SEB credit card or from a card account.
