Environmental responsibility

A collective understanding of the environmental challenges of today is needed. The climate, for instance, has changed and current lifestyle and population growth puts a strain on the resources on earth. The environmental dimension of sustainability concerns the organisation's impact on ecosystems, land, air and water. We at SEB work to reduce both our direct and indirect impact.

Thus we have consciously reduced the consumption of paper, electricity and water. We separate our waste. Our offices are 76% on Greene Energy. Office lights go out automatically after the end of working time. We are monitoring our ecological footprint on monthly basis.

  • We use ca 76% Green Energy, having started in 2010
  • MEUR 5.5 has been granted as loans to renovate the insulation of apartment buildings, ca 40% warmer homes
  • Green Leasing, we have financed ca 17% of cars with co2 waste below 130g/km
  • New bankcards by post
  • Virtually the entire car-park of SEB consists of more eco-friendly cars
  • SEB financed several “green projects “ last year, covering 2 wind parks, power stations, distant heating and a worm conveyor project
  • Digitalisation of bank documents, use of digital signature
  • Paperless office
  • SEB POS terminals at a favourable price to promote their wider usage
  • World Earth Day

Our work is conducted within two business priorities; Reducing our footprint and Sustainable Finance and Investments below.
