E-invoice standing payment service instead of direct debit order

Direct debit order had been the most convenient method for paying regular bills. As the direct debit system in Estonia was not compliant with European Union legislation, it was replaced as of 1 February 2014 with an already functioning e-invoice service, to which the option to pay e-invoices with a standing payment order was added.

An E-invoice is an electronic bill that is created, forwarded, and stored in an electronic environment. The contents of an e-invoice are the same as those of a paper bill and it is acceptable as an accounting source document. E-invoice standing payment service is a bank service for the payer that, on the basis of an e-invoice sent to the bank, allows for future automatic payments of bills to be set for the same service.

What you should know about switching to e-invoice

  • Switch to the e-invoice service to the standing payment service has ended.
  • If your standing payment order agreement was not automatically switched to an e-invoice fixed payments agreement, then the company you paid using a standing order did not want to switch to the e-invoice fixed payment service automatically.
  • If a company has concluded an agreement for receiving e-invoices after all, then you can conclude an agreement for e-invoice fixed payment and have your e-invoices delivered into SEB interner bank to settle the bills automatically.
  • If e-invoices cannot be requested for a company, then you can conclude an agreement for e-invoice fixed payment and notify the company direnctly of the fact that you wish to receive your invoices into the SEB internet bank.
  • If the company whose e-invoices you wish to pay automatically cannot concluded a agreement of e-invoice fixed payment, then you will have to use other ways of paying for the services received.
  • The most convenient method is to pay bills in the Internet Bank, where you save the respective payment under predefined payments. This way you can save time when making payments, as you do not have to insert all payment details again each time.
