Amendments to the price list and terms and conditions of SEB

On 1 January 2021, changes will enter into force in AS SEB Pank’s price list, general terms and conditions, and the terms and conditions of current account and debit and credit card agreements.

Changes in the price list are connected to everyday settlements and affect both business and private clients.

The most significant change is connected to the price list of securities. The savings of Estonian people have grown to the level where they wish to invest some of their money in addition to saving. In order to be the best partner for clients who want to diversify their investment portfolio between different markets, we will make transaction and holding fees more favourable for securities in all markets. We will also simplify pricing to suit both experienced and novice investors, making investing equally available on all markets.

Another important change in the price list concerns cash transactions carried out at a branch office. From January 2021, cash deposits to or withdrawals from an account of less than 10,000 euros can only be made at ATMs. The ATMs are open longer than the branch offices and transactions are much more affordable or completely free. Before making a larger cash transaction at an ATM, it is advisable to check the cash limit of your debit card and change the limit, if necessary.

Cash deposits in coins can only be made through a coin counter.

We will stop making cash transactions in foreign currencies at branch offices and via collection companies, as well as providing the service of exchanging and verifying bank notes.

A charge will be applied to repeat issuing of Smart-IDs by branch offices. People can create their Smart-ID accounts independently and free of charge by using their Mobile-ID or ID-card. Branch offices will continue to offer the service of creating the first Smart-ID account and issuing repeat Smart-IDs for children free of charge. As of 1 January 2021, a service fee of 5 euros will be applicable to repeat issuing of Smart-ID by branch offices.

Changes of service fees in the price list:

  • making cash transactions;
  • administration of accounts via SWIFT;
  • service fees for debit and credit cards of business clients;
  • service fees for credit cards of private customers;
  • using the bank link service;
  • repeat issuing of a Smart-ID by branch offices;
  • completing securities transactions;
  • monthly fees of securities accounts;
  • the private banking price list;
  • transaction and service fees of factoring;
  • lease service fees.

A comparison of the current and future prices can be found in the table table below.

Changes to the terms and conditions

General terms and conditions

In the general terms and conditions, we have specified the terms and conditions of entering into a client relationship, blocking of a service, and cancellation of an agreement. The amendments made are necessary to comply with the instructions for the prevention of money laundering and for applying international sanctions, and to ensure more transparency in connection with the manner of implementing due diligence measures by the bank. We have also amended the clause which regulates force majeure events.

New general terms and conditions as of 1 January 2021

Terms and conditions of current account agreement

In the terms and conditions of current account agreements, we have specified the rules of using the account and the consequences of terminating the agreement.

New terms and conditions of current accounts as of 1 January

Terms and conditions of the debit card service agreement

  • We have added a clause which describes closing the card by the bank before the expiry of the card.
  • We have added a clause about the termination of the agreement in the event of a debt or a breach of a contractual obligation by the account holder.

New terms and conditions of the debit card service agreement as of 1 January 2021

Terms and conditions of the credit card service agreement

  • We have added a clause which describes closing the card by the bank before the expiry of the card.
  • We have added a clause based on which the bank may request that the client’s income is paid to the client’s current account in the bank.

New terms and conditions of the credit card service agreement as of 1 January 2021

The private client plan

While we have been offering a favourable interest rate for SEB Super+, SEB Senior, or SEB Family Plan users for entry into consumer loan agreements, we will stop offering this incentive for new consumer loan agreements as of 1 January 2021 in connection with applying a risk-based view in the pricing of loan products.

Irrespective of the time of entry into the agreement, all SEB consumer loan clients will be able to repay their consumer loans at any time prematurely without having to pay the contractual fee as of 1 January 2021.

The business client plan

As of 1 January 2021, business client plan agreements cannot be concluded by:

  • non-resident legal persons;
  • various providers of financial services which require an activity licence or providers of other similar services and persons who are associated with such service providers.

If you accept the changes, you do not need to take any further action: your agreement will be subject to the new price list and new terms and conditions as of 1 January 2021. If you do not agree to the changes in the price list or the terms and conditions, you have the right to terminate the agreement(s) with the bank by no later than 31 December 2020.

For the rest of the securities, the bank proceeds from the par value of the security or the accounting par value of the security. If information about the par value cannot be obtained from the financial data vendor, the par value shall be deemed to be 1.
