SEB: As restrictions ease, clients and the automotive market have become active

Based on the data for the first 4 months of the current year, the market share of SEB Liising in the financing of passenger cars is over 30%, and the overall trend of the market is positive.

For companies engaging in car sales, March and April brought along a palpable setback, despite the fact that SEB Liising, for example, did not change its product and credit policy in this period. ‘During the uncertain period of the coronavirus crisis, we continued to offer our services under the same conditions, and supported both our clients and our partners’, commented Rein Karofeld, Member of the Management Board of SEB Liising.

Despite the uncertainty of the past few months, the volume of new leasing applications has begun to recover, and has reached the same level as in the same period of the previous year. ‘It is pleasing to see that, as restrictions ease, clients and the automotive market have become active once again. We are watching with great interest whether this remains so – we certainly hope it will. Our goal has remained the same – to finance the purchase with leasing of every third vehicle’, Rein Karofeld added.
